Shropshire during the Civil War and Interregnum a talk by Isabel Jones

29/1/2017

Shropshire actually played a vital part in the conduct of the Civil War, yet has been regularly overlooked as being merely one of those counties loyal to the King. All was not black and white, however, and this lecture will consider not only those who took part in the conflict on both sides, but beyond that through the Interregnum and on to the Restoration of the Stuart Kings. It will look at  the changes in religious, financial and administrative policies during two decades, and how they impacted on the county as a whole.

Join us for a talk by Isabel Jones on Thursday 2nd February at St Georges and Priorslee Parish Centre, St Georges, TF2 9LJ.

All welcome, but please note for Non-Members of the WHG there is a £2.50 charge. However, if you become a member then there is no charge, for membership details see the Membership information page.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 2nd February.
